Joan A. Beyer, (formerly Ciechanowicz) of Huntington Station, NY, passed away in Tampa, Florida on Monday, February 8, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.She is survived by daughters, Marianne Moody and Jennifer Beyer, son-in-law Dan Moody, grandsons Danny Moody & his wife Amanda and Jeffrey Moody & his wife Michelle.She was married to Albert R. Beyer for 48 years before becoming a widow in 2004. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Michele Beyer and parents Walar and Tessie Ciechanowicz, both of Maspeth, Queens.
Joan was employed by the Town of Huntington and South Huntington Schools for over 20 years. She was active at her church of 50 years, including the Rosary Society, St. Hugh's Productions and many volunteer projects.
Viewing at Jacobsen's Funeral Home in Huntington Station on Monday, February 15th from 5-9 PM and a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hugh of Lincoln Church on Tuesday, February 16th at 9:30 AM, followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery.
