Joan Marie
Laird
June 10, 1947 – November 13, 2022
Joan Marie Laird, Age 75, went to be with the Lord on Sunday November 13, 2022 at Lifepath Hospice House.
Joan was born in New York June 10, 1947, the Daughter of Joseph Rosenberg and Pauline (Rollins) Gardener. She married Harold A Laird Jr on December 21, 1971. He preceded her in Death January 3, 2022.
She is survived by three children: Joseph Jones, Amanda Long, Christina Laird-Beach; four grandchildren: Marion Jones, Parks, Jason and Elle Long, Sisters Henriettea Auterino, Katherine Caven, Joseph Rosenberg, Julie Juliano, James Rosenberg and Gerilyn Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Joan was an Army wife and traveled with her husband during deployment - Germany, Italy and France. She loved children which led her to be the head of Mom's Day Out, a daycare program at her Church. She was also the President of Mothers Against Drunk Driving Montegomery Chapter, and advocated for the families of lost loved ones due to drunk driving. She was nominated for woman of the year in 1994 while living in Enterprise Alabama. She was an active role model in her community.
In late 1997,Joan and her Family Moved to Florida. She became a tax preparer but Joan's love of Children brought her to working on continuing education classes to be a VPK Teacher. She would later retire from teaching.
Joan, along with her husband Harold, were Master Gardeners and enjoyed volunteering at the different plant shows and roaming throughout the different gardens around Central Florida.
She loved being a Mother and a Grandmother.
She will be Greatly Missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
Her Celebration of Life Will be Held on Saturday December 3, 2022 at 3:30pm at The Bridge Central Church 117 Gardner Ave
