John Lawrence Blasciak 84, of Lutz, Florida, passed away September 18, 2021. John is predeceased by his parents, John and Anna Blasciak. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Buck (Todd), sons Dan (Shelly) and Mike (Natalie); 9 grandchildren, Stephanie, Jonathan, Samantha, Christopher, Dakota, Duncan, Taylor, TJ and Dawson; one great-granddaughter, Haily; former spouse, Muriel Davies (Dave). John was born on Christmas day, 1936, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to John and Anna Blasciak. He graduated high school in 1955 from New Brunswick High School and later joined the Air Force. After being honorably discharged in 1961, John married his former wife, in Montreal, Quebec. They moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1962, had two children and moved to Tampa in 1966. They soon settled in the Carrollwood area and in 1968, had their third child. John remained in the North Tampa area until moving to Lutz in 2002.
John worked for Mettler Instruments until the mid 1970's at which point, he started his first of many successful businesses. However, the biggest impact he made on this earth was with his family. He loved spending time with them and did so often. He was always up for an adventure to the mountains, beach, river, trail, just about anywhere his kids, and later grandkids, asked him to go. One of his greatest joys was renting a place at Redington Beach each 4th of July week and having all of the family come out and stay. His family, as well as anyone who knew John, will greatly miss his strength, generous nature and witty sense of humor.
The family will have a celebration of John's life on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Carrollwood Recreation Center, 3515 McFarland Rd, Tampa, Florida, 33618. In lieu of flowers, you can honor John by donating to the National Kidney Foundation and by spending time and making memories with the people you love.
