John F. Ciani, native of Tampa went to his heavenly home December 8, 2013. In 1987, John retired from Johnson Controls of Tampa. Prior to this, John was owner & manager of several local restaurants. Noted for his joy & expertise at cooking, John loved nothing more than hosting & cooking for family and friends at home. For several years John organized & prepared a variety of events for members of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. John was faithful to his Lord, his Church & his family. His love of family was evident. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Ciani; children, John A. Ciani, Kathy Semidey (Dennis), Steven (Michelle) & Michael (Lisa) Ciani: grandchildren, Tiffany, John A., Chris (Alicia), Nicholas, Joshua, Kaitlin, Kirsten & Madison Ciani;great granddaughters, Makayla & Makenna Bertrand, Ashlyn Morgan, Kylie & Lilly Ciani; brother, Alex (Beverly) Ciani; sisters, Mary F Schutt (Danny), Juanita Rochester (Boman); sister-in-law, Gail Newsome; brother-in-law, Butch (Melinda) East; numerous nephews, nieces and a vast number of friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N Florida Ave, Tampa, wake service at 7 pm . A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated by Fr Allan Tupa, Pastor and Fr Nicholas Mormando, O.F.M., Cap. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
