John Michael Magliano, Sr., 65 Tampa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital after a long battle with heart disease and diabetes.
On July 7, 1947, he was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of the late Rinaldo Sr. and Theresa (Castoro) Magliano. Surviving are his wife of 44 years of marriage, Lillian Magliano of Tampa, FL and their son, John Michael Magliano, Jr. of Mango, Florida, two brothers, Michael and his wife Barbara Magliano of Oakdale, Connecticut, Rinaldo Francis Magliano, Jr. and his wife Mary of Norwich, Connecticut, and his sister, Carol Ann and her husband Edwin Johansen of Colchester, Connecticut., and Uncle Larry Del Ponte of East Hartford, Connecticut, and Aunt Lucille LeMay also from E. Hartford, Connecticut, Mother in law Mary Dellaripa, Sister in laws Loretta Butler, and Geraldine Fede, and Brother in law Joseph Dellaripa and several cousins, also his niece Pamela and Christopher Cannata of Glastonbury, Connecticut, his nephew's Michael Magliano, Jr and his wife Christine and Shawn Magliano and his wife Rhoda of Uncasville, Connecticut. John has many great nephews and nieces. From Tampa, he leaves his granddaughter, Danielle and his great granddaughter, Destiny whom he loved very much.
John attended East Hartford High School in East Hartford, Connecticut. John worked for Avery Used Cars back in the 70's and 80's. He also worked at his son's business, John's Body Shop. John Sr. passion was cars and racing. He loved the drag strips and back in the day he participated in street. Racing.
There will be memorial service to celebrate John's life on December 21, 2012 at the Lakeland Drag Strip in Lakeland Florida and in Connecticut there will be a memorial service held in his honor after the holidays in Connecticut by his siblings.
