Joseph Martin Fuchs, 38, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 4, 2017. Joe was the son of Joseph and Lynn Fuchs, brother to Teresa Austin and Leslie Fuchs, Uncle to Tyler, MacKenzie, Casey, Jake, and Noah, and brother-in-law to Scott and Bert.
Joe was diagnosed at the age of 2 years old with Cerebral Palsy. Our parents went to great lengths to give Joe every opportunity that a normal kid would have had.
Over the years, Joe participated in the World Disabled Games, The Bakas Equestrian Center Program: Horses for Handicapped, FFA and numerous other clubs and groups. Joe graduated in 2000 from Gaither High School with a standing ovation as he rolled across the stage to receive his diploma. Joe loved life and the outdoors. He loved to go camping, swimming and fishing. Joe loved John Deere tractors, horses, and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. Joe dreamed of living on a farm and living the cowboy life. He loved scary movies and playing tricks on his favorite people. Joe loved spicy food, the hotter, the better. He loved to be with people and just listen.
Joe was a beautiful soul whose smile brightened even the worst possible situations. He had a wonderful sense of humor and love to laugh. Even though Joe could not verbally speak, he could speak volumes with his expressions and that special look in his eye.
Joe dearly loved his family especially his nephews. We will miss him greatly and his passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts. He will be forever missed. We appreciate flowers but in lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Children's Cancer Center in Joe's name.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Saturday, July 29th at St Paul Catholic Church, Tampa, corner of Stall Rd and N Dale Mabry Hwy.
