Julio Enrique "Papo" Monche, 63, of Tampa, FL passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2022 due to ongoing medical issues. Papo was born to Julio Sr. and Ana Esmurrias on December 23, 1958, at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY. After attending high school, Papo entered military service and lived proudly as a United States Air Force veteran.
Julio was a loving father to his only child, Connie who he raised with his long time love and partner, Soly. He was an equally loving step-father to Christine; a proud grandfather to Maya and Cameron; little "big" brother to Nilsa, and Martha; older brother to Jerry, Elizabeth, Vilma, Ana, Jose and Maribel; eldest uncle to more than 20 nieces and nephews whose lives he influenced in different ways; and a good friend to anyone who crossed his path.
Papo's family will remember him most as a kind man and free spirit with a healthy appetite for life. He believed in God, and loved people, music, sports, aviation and fishing. He was the type of individual who could be counted on to share a good laugh and conversation. Julio was a jack of all trades and was always happy to lend a hand and tinker on almost any project. An avid fisherman, Papo was happiest with a bucket full of bait and a line in the water.
Please join us in a celebration of his life and saying goodbye as he casts off one last time.
A service will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2nd, at 3:00. The family will receive visitors two hours prior, from 1:00 to 3:00.
