Obituary

June E. Stalnaker went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus on January 21, 2011. She was born June Kuebler on June 6, 1922 in Minersville, Pennsylvania. A proud "coal miner's daughter", June graduated from high school in Pennsylvania, and she completed some courses at the University of South Florida where she retired as a secretary in the College of Fine Arts. June was the widow of Leo Stalnaker, Jr. who was a former Assistant Managing Editor of The Tampa Tribune. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey C. Stalnaker, M.D. and his wife, Gail, and her son, Lance K. Stalnaker, Esq.,; by her grandchildren, Erin Stalnaker Sullivan and Nicholas Stalnaker and by her great granddaughter, Idalis Sullivan. June also is survived by several nieces, great nieces and great nephews. At various times, June was a cheerleader, a Cub Scout Den Mother and an officer in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She also was an excellent cook. Above all, June was a loving and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 North Florida Ave, Tampa. A funeral service will take place 10:30 A.M. Friday at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 16190 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, New Tampa. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 2:00 P.M.. In lieu of flowers, June's family requests that donations be made to the building fund of Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Tampa or to the Pregnancy Care Center in Tampa.
