Mr. Kent Pendleton Post, 86, of Tampa passed away Monday (May 16, 2011) at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was the son of Dean and Catherine Post also of Tampa. He was a lifetime resident of Tampa and he proudly served our country as a United States Marine during World War II. After his Military Service he was very active in the Marine Corp League, American Legion, Lion's Club, Rotary Club and the John Darling Lodge #154 F & AM.
He was survived by his son Dean Post and his wife Lynn of Crystal River, daughter Cathy Wood and her husband Neil of Clover, S.C., daughter Lynda Post and her husband Gary Higham of Crystal River, son Robert Post and his wife Laurie of Marietta, GA. He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren as well as his sister Peggy Post of Pennsylvania and sister-in-laws Lois Post of Marietta, GA. and Bettijane Post of Etiwanda, CA. along with many Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Betty Post, daughter Deborah Oehler, brothers Dean Post Jr., Earl Post, and Edward Post.
Services for Kent Post will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the chapel of MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 North Florida Ave, Tampa. Full military honors will follow at 1:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
