Kevin Lee Dufault (Pops), 59, of Valrico, Florida, passed away on April 19th, 2021 after his battle with cancer.
Kevin is lovingly remembered by his wife Becky Dufault of 17 years; two children: Krystal and Kenny (Danielle); three step-children: Aaron (Christi), Ben (Mary), and Cara (Scott); his sister Carol (Eric); niece Brittany (Eddie); nephew Brent (Staci); eight step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
Kevin was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to Kenneth and Lorraine Dufault on July 18, 1961. Being born with Spina Bifida and being the youngest of three, his Aunt Marie helped care for him. He quickly grew into a high-spirited child who kept his older siblings, Carol and Gary, on their toes and his parents as well. He attended Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School with Emeril Lagasse, which encouraged his love of being in the kitchen, creating family meals, and designing elaborate birthday cakes for his children. In 1978, his family moved down to Florida. After starting a family of his own, he settled in the Tampa Bay area where he managed the family owned gas station, Three-D Service Center, for several years. After that, he began managing at Olin Mott where he jumped in headfirst to quickly become the keyman and held that role for over 25 years. He sacrificed a lot to give his family the best life possible.
Kevin was a hardworking, headstrong, but fun loving man with a Bostonian accent where "pahk the cah", "mines", and "yellow" for hello was a frequent point of humor. He enjoyed building model trains, camping in his RV, and being in the kitchen. For those who don't know, Kevin lived on spaghetti, Oreos, and Pepsi. He loved getting together with friends and family to play "cahds" like Back Alley, Spades, or Euchre as well as Sequence and Yahtzee. Though many knew Kevin had a hard exterior, he had a big heart that deeply cared for his family and friends and he will be missed immensely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25th from 3 pm to 6 pm at 11291 Knights Griffin Road, Thonotosassa, Florida 33592. In lieu of flowers, please donate to LifePath, Designation: Melech Hospice House https://lifepathhospice.chaptershealth.org/GeneralDonation
