Mrs. Lael Maria Louty, age 67, of Tampa Florida. Lael passed away September 23, 2016 at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and moved to Tampa in 1983. She worked as a mental health counselor for various local mental health agencies. Religious affiliation included, Roman Catholic, St. Mary Church, Tampa. Clubs, Her achievements are as follows, she graduated from Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She continued her education at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, receiving a degree in Master of Arts, Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Lael (also known as Lee to family and some friends) spoke French fluently and studied at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She married Bob Louty on December 19, 1992 at St. Mary Church, Tampa. Lael was an avid reader of mysteries and detective stories. She loved to knit and enjoyed meeting with the ladies at the Fiber Art Shop. She was a cat lover throughout her life including Brownie and Eddie, two of her favorites. She enjoyed traveling to her favorite place, Sedona, Arizona and recently completed a religious tour of Italy. In recent years she became great friends with Avinash Sharma and his staff at the Northdale Pharmacy who were immensely helpful. She is survived by her husband Robert Louty; step-son, Jeffery Louty and wife Melissa and their children of North Port, Florida,step-son. Richard Loutyof Orlando, Florida; sister-in-law, Lorraine Martin and husband Kevin and family of Poughkeepsie, New York; cousins, Laren and Rebecca McGuigan and their children, of Grangeville, Idaho, and close family Linda and Mike Pekarsky in Syracuse, New York. Lifetime best friends Maggi Lubov and Lena Goldberg. Many close friends in Tampa (including Sheryl, Pat, Les, Kathy, Kim and Frieda). A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday, September 30th at St Mary Catholic Church, 15520 N. Boulevard, Tampa FL 33613. Further services and burial will take place in Poughkeepsie, NY.
