Lamar Fred Seufert, Sr., 84, a graduate of St. Petersburg High School, Class of 52, passed away November 18, 2016. A retired captain, Lamar dedicated 32 years of his life to protecting and serving on the Florida Highway Patrol and another 10as a detective in the Seminole Tribe Police Department. A veteran of the United States Navy, Lamar spent four years stationed in Sasebo, Japan serving in MSB Div1 during the Korean War. A member of the Holiday Rambler RV Club, Lamar traveled the continent telling his stories to whomever would listen. He was also a member of the American Legion, Florida Association of State Troopers, and Fellowship Baptist Church. He is survived by Doris Marden Seufert, his loving wife of 58 years; their three children, Dorinda Sports, Lamar Seufert, Jr. and Paula Kelly; five grandchildren, Jennifer Barbour, Shane Douglas, Nicholas, Samantha, and Declan Kelly; and three great grandchildren, Olivea and Aimee Barbour and Zoey Douglas. Funeral service will take place at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Ave., Tampa on Wednesday November 23 at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
