Leon Eugene Ferguson, Sr., 62 of Seffner, Florida passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at Brandon Regional Hospital. Born in Guymon, Oklahoma, he moved his family to Florida in 1988. Leon recently retired from Verizon after 39 years of employment. Upon retiring, he enjoyed visiting & spending time at The Magic Emporium and stargazing with his telescopes in the evenings at his home. Leon was preceded in death by his father, Joe Ferguson and nephew, Brandon Baugh. He is survived by his daughter, Melanie (David) Dickerson of Bardstown, Kentucky; two sons, Leon (Jennifer) Ferguson of Brandon and Christopher Ferguson of Seffner; seven grandchildren: Jessica & Tiffany Dickerson; Leon, Blake & Austin Ferguson; Jonathan & Julianna Ferguson; mother, Doris Ferguson; brothers, Paul & Russell Ferguson of Guymon, Oklahoma; two sisters, Anita Ferguson of Guymon and Melissa (Eryn) Baugh of Carrollton, Texas; two half brothers, Gerald & Ronald Ausbun of Oklahoma.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday, June 18th at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa 33612 with a visitation held prior from 4:30 – 6:30pm Tuesday. Further services and burial to be held in Guymon, Oklahoma at a later date.
