Obituary

Lewis R.Way, SMSgt, U.S.A.F., (Retired), 69, of Tampa, born in Lowell, Ohio passed away March 4, 2005 at his residence. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and proudly served during Vietnam. He later retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office as a pilot and was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Way is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Georgena "Jeanie"; son, James Way & wife Janet of Clewiston, Fla; daughters, Emily Lennon & husband Dan of Palm Bay, Fla, Colleen Kesselring & husband Zane of Marietta, Ohio and Valerie Young of Tampa; sister, Emily Francis & husband Bill of Beverly, Ohio; mother-in-law, Marguerite Baker of Tampa; eight grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, Amanda, Jana, Jason, Sarah, Sean and Kristin; four great grandchildren, Rylee, Karlee, Dylan and Reagan. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 5902 N. Himes Ave. with honors by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.Interment to follow with full military honors presented by MacDill AFB Honor Guard at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the First Church of the Nazarene Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. with honors presented by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to LifePath Hospice or to First Church of the Nazarene.
