Dr. Louis N. D'Ascoli, 90, of Tampa passed away April 1, 2012. Louis was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II both in Europe and Okinawa.Dr. D'Ascoli was a former teacher at Gordon High School, Principal of Yonkers High School and Eastchester Senior High School. He received his doctorate in 1958 and had received state-wide recognition by being elected to the presidency of the New York State Association of Secondary School Principals and two years later to the presidency of the newly-formed School Administration Association of New York State. In 1976, he was awarded the James E. Allen, Jr. Memorial Award for "outstanding contribution to the profession of educational administration in the State of New York. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dr. D'Ascoli will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, April 11th at John Knox Village, Tampa.
