Louise Ferretti Wilt 89, Matriarch and Uniter of the tribes. Born in NYC, she was the older sister to her cousins & brother. A parochial schoolgirl by day and sneaker-into jazz clubs by night with her gal pal. Along the way she forged her under-aged brothers' birth certificate so he could enlist in the Army as an engineer during WWII. Then she met the first love of her life, a dashing combat pilot. She married that boy and became a career military wife & mother to four boys, godmother to multiple generations, and sister/aunt/elder to her tribe. Throughout the next 30 years they traveled the world; in addition to raising the heathens she worked as a TV weather girl, scout mother, and librarian. As an inspired sports mom, she helped her father design & patent the baseball batting tee, used in Tee-ball throughout the world. After arriving in Tampa & planting the family flag in 1970, her family grew exponentially. With the addition of four daughter-in-laws and their clans, four grandchildren, great grandchild, a bazillion schoolchildren & life-long friends she was a force to be reckoned with.
After breaking bread, you became part of her tribe. Along the way; she buried parents, husband, siblings, and children while she cared for the nations' veterans through the VA and American Legion. She met her next great love, a gifted physician and brought his clan into the tribe. From the day they met, they were together each day of their lives, in sickness and health. With the aid of her devoted healers & alchemists, she fought a five-year battle with Cancer; until fate sucker-punched her during a hurricane. She never gave up and agreed to lay down her earthly joys & troubles when her lord & savior called. She loves you all, Amen. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4 - 7 pm at the German American Club 6111 N.
