Luz M. Ortiz-Huertas, 86 years old, passed away on January 4, 2020 in Tampa, Florida. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico. She lived most of her life and raised her five children in the beautiful mountains of Jayuya. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to all. She is survived by daughters Brenda E. Rivera, Maria P. Rivera; Sons, Cesar A. Rivera, Eugenio Rivera, Amilcar Rivera; Sister Carmen E. Gonzalez and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved and adored.

She loved nature, traveling, dancing, spending time with friends, enjoying her favorite ice cream and living life to the fullest. She had a true gift for gardening and enjoyed pouring her heart and soul into her many plants and flowers. She was well known for her love of orchids. At last count, she had over 100 orchid plants growing and thriving.

Funeral services and graveside burial will take place on Sunday, January 18 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.
