McDONALD, Margaret Harvey, 97, of Tampa died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 18, 1911 in Bangor, Maine to Major (US Army) Leigh I. Harvey and Margaret MacFadden Harvey. As an "Army Brat", and later as a military wife, she spent many years residing in various foreign countries and different parts of the US. A graduate of the Bangor Business College, prior to the birth of her children, she worked as a legal secretary for both her father and her husband of 45 years, the late Colonel (US Army) William J. McDonald. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Harvey Turner. Surviving are her son, Captain George Harvey McDonald (Sonya); her daughter, Martha McDonald Gonzalez (Jack); and three grandchildren, David Ross Munro of Westminster, MD, Matthew K. McDonald of San Francisco and LeighAnne McDonald Munro of New York City. Until her early nineties, she was a regular volunteer at the MacDill AFB pharmacy and remained an avid reader, an excellent bridge player and cook. At her request, a service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
