Margaret Elizabeth Ahlfeld McCombs Zentz entered her eternal home on May 27, 2016 at the age of 99 years. She was born in White County, IN to Ernest and Helen (Liebo) Ahlfeld on November 23, 1916. She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Joseph McCombs and Donal Zentz.
After her retirement from Wabash Magnetics, she graduated from Huntington College in elementary education and served as a substitute teacher. She spent her entire life in service to her Lord Jesus Christ as an organist, Sunday School teacher, and mission work. She practiced a faithful life of prayer and encouragement, and many family members, friends, and neighbors asked her to pray for them. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.
She is survived by her three children, Dennis McCombs, Port Orange, FL; Don McCombs, Sebring, FL; and Debra Miller, Sebring, FL. She has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Alber, Bloomington, IN and her brother, James Ahlfeld, Dry Ridge, KY., and was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Eugene Ahlfeld and sister, Martha Moon. Funeral services are planned on July 9th at St. John's Lutheran Church, Peru, IN and burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Peru, IN.
