Maria Emma Riano Parra, was born in the town of Anolaima, Colombia on March 20th, 1940, and passed on December 18th, 2020. She shared her permanent dedication to teaching her children. Other activities such as fashion making design and decoration with flowers were her passion in the city of Bogotá.

She came to the United States in 1998 and settled in Los Angeles, California in order to take care of her mother who suffered from some health problems.

In 2008, she moved to New York City and lived there for six years, then she moved to Tampa, Florida in 2014 to be closer to her family.

Among her most prominent hobbies: Listening to Colombian music, reading biblical passages, listening to Catholic programs on local radio, watching documentaries on TV, news and shows, as well as classic movies.

Her favorite flowers are orchids and roses grown in her country of origin.

Mother, friend and unforgettable woman. We'll always remember your entrepreneur spirit, your bravery, and the way you always took care of your loved ones. Thank you for all your comprehension, the love you gave to us, all the nice talks and the lessons you left to your husband, Jose Manuel. Your sons and daughters, Cesar, Sandra, Claudia, Ricardo and Maria Consuelo. Son-in-law Jose Joaquin and grandchildren Laura, Natalie and Matthew. Your family will always carry your memory in their hearts and will recall, with respect and admiration, your independence, achievements, and your capacity to reach every goal without letting anyone or anything stop you. We'll also recall with love your passion for reading about historical facts, especially, the ones about all the strong women that, as you did, left their print in this world. We will try to lift your name high

in your memory and remember with joy your time in our lives.
