Mr. Mark E. Trimpey, 65 of Lutz Fl passed away September 16, 2017, he was born at home in Markleton, PA, May 24, 1952. Mark graduated from Rockwood Area High School in May 1971 and worked for the Pennsylvania State Parks until he entered the US Army Sept 28, 1972, where he earned his sharpshooter's badge and served as a truck mechanic in the 56th Field Artillery Command with the Pershing missile system stationed at the US Army base in Ulm, Germany. After an honorable discharge Sept 18, 1975, with the rank of SP4, he moved back home to Markleton, PA, until summer 1976 when he moved to the Tampa Bay area. He attended the Pinellas Vocational Technical Institute from January, 1979, until he graduated in July 1980, with a technical certificate. He married Linda Eleonore Haas July 26, 1980, and after returning from their honeymoon he started work as a computer technician with NCR August 1980 until he retired in June 2013. He then worked for Pendum and Burroughs as an IT technician servicing ATM and other cash automation equipment until he died Sept 16, 2017, working with other church members cleaning Hurricane Irma tree debris at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Lutz, FL.
Mark was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church in America – PCA), Lutz, FL, from April 1984 until his death. He was an ordained deacon, Sunday School teacher and Bible study leader. Mark grew in his Christian life through the means of Bible study and prayer; he was a member (singer) of the music team at church. Mark was a handyman; he enjoyed helping others through working with his hands. He was a mentor – he would show others how to do a project and work with them to ensure they could perform the work. He liked working outdoors.
Mark's spiritual gift was service. He was motivated to bring glory to God through serving his fellow mankind. 1 Peter 4:11 – "whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies-in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." ESV In this way Mark was like His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mark 10:45 – "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." ESV
Survivors include : Linda Trimpey (Lutz, FL), wife, Daniel Trimpey (St. Petersburg, FL), Joshua Trimpey (Lutz, FL) and Michael Trimpey (Lutz, FL), sons, Edward Trimpey (Confluence, PA), Harold Trimpey (Martinsville, VA), Clark Trimpey (Confluence, PA) and Jacob Trimpey (Columbus, OH), brothers, Joan Ansell (Somerset, PA) and Pam McClintock (Markleton, PA), sisters.
Family will receive friends Thursday at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church of Lutz from 5-7 pm followed by service at 7 pm.
Graveside service will take place on Friday Sept 22nd at Crosby Lake Cemetery, in Starke FL,at 1:00 pm directions - go west on SR 100 from US Hwy 301 in south Starke (traffic light at intersection) 2.2 miles to the cemetery on the south side of SR 100
