Obituary

Mary Jene Richardson was born on December 26, 1925, in Camden, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert Degraffinreid Fannin and Nola Willeford. She died peacefully on December 12, 2022, in Tampa, Florida.

She attended the University of Miami and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in education, specializing in preschool and elementary education. She was well-known as a vocalist for local churches and musical ensembles, such as the Sugar Timer Singers in Temple Terrace. She and her husband, Frank, were longtime Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club members.

Jean enjoyed socializing with friends and family and was the "Belle of the Ball" at University Village (NKA Unisen), where she has lived for the last 15 years. She also sang with University Village's own group, "The Notables".

Jene was predeceased by her devoted husband of 49 years, Frank, and her companion Sam Piazza. She is survived by her two sons, their wives, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held for her at the Unisen Senior Living Auditorium on December 26, 2022 at 4 PM.
