Mrs. Maureen Ann Beirne Gauzza, 75, ofTampa passed away July 3, 2017. She was born in Yonkers, NY and moved to Central Florida in December 1981 from Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Maureen was a member of Saint Lawrence Catholic Church, Tampa; Friends of Upper Tampa Bay Library President 2005-2015, Tampa, FL; Girl Scout Troop Leader, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Maureen was a beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Maureen's greatest joy in life was family, especially her six beautiful grandchildren. She lovingly made special memories with them every chance she got. From baking and making treats to playing games and cards, blowing bubbles and grandkid sleepovers, Maureen was the world's best Mom and Grandmother. Her husband of 51 years, Charlie, both of her daughters, Sharon and Christine, and her grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Christopher, Julia, Savannah and Alexandria, absolutely adored her to the moon and back. Another big milestone in Maureen's life was when she excitedly formed an Upper Tampa Bay (UTB) Friends of the Library group, which led to the beautiful community library being built in 2005. The UTB Regional Library has grown and flourished along with the Westchase community Maureen and Charlie called home for the past 20 years. Maureen loved libraries and thought it was wonderful to see adults and children of all ages using the UTB Regional Library. When they dedicated a room in Maureen's honor, The Maureen Gauzza Community Room, her daughter Sharon Potts said, "My sister and I grew up going to the library with my Mom. This is a very fitting tribute to her."
