Obituary

Melvin "Ollie" Danner, 85, of Tampa passed away peacefully on February 16, 2006. He was a World War II veteran and prisoner of war held by the Japanese for four years. Upon his return to the United States he became a resourceful self-employed businessman who in 1960 began a new career path, which included all facets of the insurance industry. During the next 25 years he obtained his CLU degree and continued working as a CLU and Estate Planner. Upon his retirement he continued to work as a self-employed insurance underwriter. Ollie was dedicated to his family, church, friends and society. He served in many civic and religious organizations. He was predeceased by his parents, six siblings, and one great grandson. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jean; daughters, Peggy Danner, Sandra Eveland & spouse Darroll Sr; grandchildren, Darroll Jr, Dameon, Ian, Amanda Eveland, Christa and Blaine Bartell, Sr.; great grandchildren, Brittany Irish, Blaine Bartell, Alexis Berkley, and Gia Eveland, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and caring friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 21st from 6-8 PM at First Church of the Nazarene, 5902 N. Himes Ave. A funeral service will take place 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 22nd at First Church of the Nazarene.
