Michael J. McCoole age 42, of Lutz passed away Friday, May 12, 2006. He was born in New Bedford, Mass., and raised in Bow, NH. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, he moved to Florida in 1987 to pursue a teaching career. He earned a Master's degree in Education from the University of South Florida. He was a beloved member of the Gaither High School faculty for 16 years. There, he not only taught his students science, but tried to instill in them a love of God and family, respect for others, unwavering ethics, and personal responsibility.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Laura Stirpe McCoole; his two children, Nate and Micah; his parents, Jim and Bunny McCoole of Wesley Chapel; sister, Robin Ipe of Sarasota; and aunt Mary Minkler of San Antonio, FL.

Michael showed strength, courage, and wisdom beyond imagination throughout his lengthy fight against cancer. His indomitable spirit and unshakable faith in God are what kept him with us for so long. To his wife and children, he is a hero. He will never be forgotten, and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 5-7pm at North Boulevard Church of Christ, Tampa followed by a 7pm memorial service. Please omit flowers.
