Michael G. Pizzurro, 30, born in Tampa Florida, passed away Dec. 4th at St Joseph's Hospital North after a long battle with giant axonal neuropathy. He attended Most Holy Redeemer School and Gaither H.S. He was full of life and inspired many people. He was a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and for the USF Medical Sessions Group. Michael served as an ambassador for the Tampa Bay Bucaneers as a freshman in high school. Michael is survived by his parents, Vincenzo & Mary Pizzurro; his brother Joseph; sisters Julia and Sandra, all of Tampa; paternal grandmother, Giulia Pizzurro of Italy; maternal grandparents Frank & Santa Tranchina of New York; aunt Joanie & Larry Parker of Tampa; uncle Anthony Tranchina and wife Maria of New York; aunt Giuseppina Terenzi and husband Gino of Italy; uncle Vito Pizzurro and wife Lisa of Germany and cousins Julie, Mark, Laura, Katia, Alexia, Christa and Frankie. God called a mighty warrior to serve the heavens. Rest in peace Michael. You are our Hero and will be always loved and missed.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 - 9pm at St. Timothy Catholic Church,17512 Lakeshore Rd, Lutz. A funeral Mass to celebrate his life will take place Saturday at 1 pm at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Burial at Trinity Memorial Gardens immediately following the mass.
