IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mildred M.
Glenn
January 12, 1923 – April 6, 2023
Mildred M. Glenn (Fultz) was born January 12, 1923, and died on April 6, 2023. "Millie" was 100 years old! She had a lifetime of amazing experiences and adventures. Among her adventures, in 1942, she caught a train with her sister from her hometown in Illinois to California. In Long
Beach, she and her sister worked together assembling airplanes during WWII. There, she met her future husband, Barney L. Glenn. During their
young lives they had 4 children: Laura Sue Woods, Patricia Phillips (Mark), Denise Christensen (Michael), and Phillip Glenn (Penny), along with 5
grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
As the war escalated, Millie's husband joined the Air Force. As an USAF family, Millie had the opportunity to live in many different places both within
the USA, and overseas. She and her family made the world their home.
Millie was a homemaker for most of her life. She became an exceptional seamstress, making clothes for herself and her daughters. She was busy.
She was an excellent competitive bowler, sometimes beating Barney, much to his chagrin. She loved to work in the garden and was loyal attending her flowers and plants. She was an amazing cook – huge Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners come to mind. Millie was a great Mom!
In later life, Millie & Barney would traverse the nation attending reunions of the 11th Bombardment Group (Pacific 1940-1945). These reunions allowed them to stay connected to those they had served with during their 25+years in the USAF. In addition, wherever they lived they made lifelong friends. A true testament to their warmth and generosity.
For Millie, one of the most important events she attended was the 100th birthday celebration of Ronald Reagan in Simi Valley, California. She immensely respected our 40th President of the United States.
Millie's life was one well lived, beginning to end. She will be missed.
