Mitsuko Kato, age 90, after a long battle with Parkinson's passed away peacefully at her home in Land O' Lakes, Florida on June 7, 2012. She is survived by her son, Dennis Kato and his wife Janet, her daughter, Diane Kuzma, along with four granddaughters, Jennifer, Erica, Donna, Kelly, and one grandson, Gregory. Mitsuko enjoyed over sixty years of marriage to Ichiro Kato whom she met in the Granada Internment Camp in Colorado during the war. Having lived in Cincinnati, Ohio most of their lives, Mitsuko was a consummate worker, whether it be as an accountant for a local drug store, in the deli department of Kroger's, or after retiring, volunteering for the Woodland Mound Nature Park of Hamilton County. In 2006 she and Ichiro moved to Florida. Memories of of her long life love of her three pugs, Pookie, Petunia and Penelope were sparked by visiting dogs during the darkest time of her condition. Thank you Twinkie and Itzi. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Cincinnati where she will be interred next to her beloved husband.
