Nell Whelchel, 83, went to be with the Lord April 4, 2007. Preceded in death by a loving husband, Hugh C. Whelchel, Nell is survived by her 4 children; Clif Whelchel, Helen Testerman, Shirley Jo Conway & Hugh Whelchel, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren & 1 sister, Helen Taylor. Services will be held on Monday April 9th at 7 PM at the West Broad Street Baptist Church at 3809 West Broad Street in Tampa, where she was a member for over 10 years. Nell was a charter member of the Magna Charter Dames and past President of the Old Fort Brook Chapter of the UDC. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to LifePath Hospice (813-871-8111). Her legacy is one of Love for her God, her family and her many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
