Obituary

Dr. Norberto Yagonia Kee, son of the late Porfirio Kee and Librada Yagonia Kee, was born in Cebu City, Philippines on June 6, 1949. At an early age, he displayed high intellect, curiosity, and an interest in medicine. He graduated from medical school and practiced as a pediatrician in his native country as well as in the United States. He was married to Evangeline Beach (formerly Kee), and they were blessed with three children. Later in his career, a Parkinson's diagnosis forced his early retirement, and he moved shortly afterwards to Tampa, Florida, in 2007. Dr. Kee was fond of Charlie Chaplin, ballroom dancing, card games, Karl Marx, karaoke, cowboy movies, and the Filipino entertainers Dolphy and Yoyoy. He was also a lifelong fan of the great singer Frank Sinatra. Among his favorite songs was "My Way," which was also a life credo of sorts, as Dr. Kee forged his own path and took many roads less traveled. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Edgar Kee.

An intimate family service was held at MacDonald Funeral Home in Tampa, on January 31, 2017. His permanent resting place is at Garden of Memories. Dr. Kee is survived by former wife Evangeline, and their children, Marie Evangeline Kee, Jonas Christian Kee, and Marie Evita Kee, as well as by a host of grandchildren, including the youngest of them, a baby girl who was born to Dr. Kee's son, on the same day as her grandfather's passing, on January 25, 2017. Dr. Kee is missed dearly. His family keep him alive in their hearts and memories.
