Osvaldo Plasencia, 72, of Tampa passed away August 21, 2016. He was born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico and came here in 1952 from Puerto Rico. He worked for Playtex and Burlington Industries as a Distribution Manager. He served with the United States Navy and Reserves for a total of 5 years. He received the National Defense Service Medal. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberlie Kennedy of Tampa, FL; son, Bobby Plasencia of Brooklyn, NY; daughter, Julie Hess of Tampa, FL; granddaughters, Devin Balara of Knoxville, TN and Natalie Hess of Tampa, FL; brother, Alejandro Plasencia of Brooklyn, NY; sisters, Nereida Silverio of Hatillo, Puerto Rico (Louis) and Migdalia Plasencia of Staten Island, NY; uncle, Rene Plasencia of Hatillo, Puerto Rico; many cousins, nephews, nieces, great grand nieces and grand nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, August 26th at St Lawrence Catholic Church, Tampa. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the Mass.Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:30 PM Friday, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
