Philip Joseph, Altopiedi, Jr., 60, of Tampa passed away Sept 24, 2011. He was born in Newburgh, New York, where he graduated Newburgh Free Academy and moved to Tampa in1978. He loved Antique cars and trucks and was a member of the National Hot Rod Association. He was a retired entrepreneur from several businesses, Alto Construction, Tumbleweed Cafe and Altopiedi Trucking.He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Joseph Altopiedi, Sr. and Josephine N. LaRosa Altopiedi. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susan Lynn Maharay Altopiedi; daughters, Kimberly Dawn Altopiedi Lindsey (John), Rebecca Sarah Altopiedi Johnson (Marc); beloved grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Emilee Johnson and Daniel Lindsey, all of Tampa; sister, Donna Wilner (Ron); niece, Jourdan Wilner and nephew, Jared Wilner; sisters-in-law, Julia Coss (Jon), Sharon Leary and Lisa Polen (Doug); brothers-in-law, Terry Diller (PJ), Michael Vazquez (Kristine), Mathew Vazquez (Mary) and Jeffery Vazquez (Stephanie); and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 8th at the chapel of MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Ave, Tampa. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, send memorial contributions to any Animal Rescue Charity of your choice.
