Ralph Milton Smith, 92, died in Tampa on January 27, 2015. Born, raised in Dearing, GA, he was a WWII US Navy Radioman on USS Osterhaus and Panama. Attended Berry College, GA '41; M.Ed. U of Florida '49. School teacher Arcadia, FL, English teacher at Walker Junior High, Manatee High in Bradenton, FL 1955–'82. Married 52 years to Bettie Rhodes, Milledgeville GA, she died 2009. Ralph follows parents William Curtis and Zada Jane (Reeves) Smith; brothers Earl, Claude, Sanford; sisters Nettie Rae Jones, Amy Lou Tilby, Sadie Barton. Survived by daughter Leslie (John) Marsh, son Bill Smith, grandsons James Marsh, Graeme Marsh, all of Tampa. Full military honors will be presented at 1:30 PM Tuesday, Feb 3rd at Sarasota National Cemetery.
