BELLE, Robert George (Bob), 86, of Tampa, Florida was called to his long deserved place of rest with the Father on July 31, 2011. His life and final days were spent surrounded by his devoted family. Bob was born June 17, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Alice Belle. He grew up on the Tampa Bayshore and attended Plant High School where he played on the football team, earning the Guy Toph trophy and helping his team win the state championship. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II and then graduated from the University of Miami. Most of his life was spent in careers where he demonstrated his joy and devotion to working with children. After teaching Physical Education in Hillsborough County schools and serving as a federal agent in the FBI, he spent most of his career serving as superintendant of the Hillsborough County Juvenile Home and then director of the Pinellas County Juvenile Detention Center. Many lives were touched by his service and his personal ministrations. He enjoyed fishing and golf and was a long time member of the Alafia River Longrifles and Florida Frontiersmen. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and by his brother, William (Bill) Belle of Tampa.He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eva Belle; son, Mike Belle and wife Janine of Tampa; daughter, Karen Moran and husband Jim of Orlando; daughter, Sherri Tabor and husband Tim of Lutz; grandchildren, Steve, Kelli, Jonathan and wife Lauren, Michael, Brian, Gregory, and Rebecca; sister, Joanne Woolen of Blowing Rock, North Carolina; sister-in-laws; brother-in-laws; nieces and nephews. Bob was a dedicated husband and son, an attentive and loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend to many. Memorial service will be held Friday, August 12, 7:00 PM at North Boulevard Church of Christ, 14901 N. Boulevard, Tampa.
