Mr. Robert Strong "Bob" Yates, 80, of Tampa passed away June 28, 2012 in Tampa, Fl where he lived since 1984. He was formerly of Canton, Ohio from 1960-1984. Bob graduated Dartmouth College in 1953. He served with the US Navy and traveled to Antarctica as Navy ship journalist. He received his master's degree from Northwestern. Bob summered in the Bershires, S. Egremont MA. Bob was employed at the Timken Company in Canton, Ohio. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Barbara B. Yates, father, Franklyn B. Yates, & mother, Gene M. Yates. He is survived by his daughter, Janine Y. Crouch and son-in-law, James H. Crouch. No local services, interment will take place at Greenrich Cemetery, Strong/Yates Circle, in Saratoga Springs, NY at a later date.
