Mr. Robert "Bob", Murphy, 86, of Tampa, formerly of St Petersburg passed away on October 22, 2010, at the Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace. He was born in Massachusetts, living most of his life in Somerville & Arlington Mass, moving to St Petersburg in semi-retirement. He served honorably with the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked for the State of Massachusetts as well as the City of St Petersburg. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Estelle Murphy. He is survived by his daughters, Jane Contois (Dennis) of Inverness FL and Jean Bertino (John) of Land O' Lakes, FL; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A private military service with full honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
