Robert Lewis Roper, known to all as "Roper" of Odessa, Fl passed peacefully at home, May 25, 2019 at the age of 83. Born June 22, 1935 in Tallassee, Alabama to the late Rufus Burl Roper and Francis Marie Golden. He was predeceased in death by his parents, his brother, Curtis Lee Roper and many longtime friends. He proudly served with the U.S. Marines in Korea. He retired from GTE after 32 years and was a longtime volunteer for the Seniors PGA. He is survived by daughters and son-in-laws Terri and Lonnie Redmon, and Trisha and Joey Schmidt, granddaughters, Emily Redmon, Gracy Redmon and Hannah Schmidt, wife Margaret Roper and longtime friend Margaret Davidson. Niece Laura (Tracy) Hoeft, Nephews Steven (Grace) Roper and Mark Roper. He was a Great Father, a Great Friend but most of all a Great Man. He will be sorely missed by many.
