ROLAND EDWARD "BUTCH" DOYLE, 79 of Lutz, Florida, passed away comfortably just prior to Noon on Monday, the 24th of June, 2019 at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa from complications of Interstitial Lung Disease.
Born March 21st, 1940 in Monponsett, Massachusetts to Arthur Richard Doyle and Dorothy Chaves Doyle eventually relocating Southwards to Tampa Bay residing in Land O'Lakes, Tampa and ultimately in Lutz. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Patricia Jane Combs Doyle; Sons Ronald Roland Doyle (Brooksville FL), Kevin Richard Doyle (Zephyrhills FL) and Daughter Theresa Lorraine Doyle (Zephyrhills FL); Grandchildren Devin Fleming, Kierstin Doyle and Constance Doyle; Sisters Patricia Doyle Burr and Barbara Doyle Hoover (both of Tampa FL); and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Mr. Doyle was predeceased by his first wife of 38 years and the Mother of his three children, Violet Julianne "Judy" Bohannon Doyle; Brothers and Sisters Richard "Dickie" Doyle (Quincy MA), Donald Doyle (Saco ME), Dorothy "Dottie" Doyle Swann (Tampa FL), Kathleen "Kathy/Kit" Doyle Sadlier (Ft. Lauderdale FL), Geraldine "Geri" Doyle Langill (So. Weymouth MA); Francis "Franny" Doyle (Tampa FL) and Robert "Bobby" Doyle (also of Tampa FL).
Butch admirably served in the United States Army, Company B - 1st Battalion - 10th Infantry as a Motor Pool Specialist. He was a founding member of the Rough Riders of Tampa and proud past member of the West Tampa Sherife Association, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, New England Showmen's Association and the Greater Tampa Showmen's Association. He was the owner of the highly competitive and very successful Temple Terrace Lawn Mower and many of his former staff and employees remain lifelong friends to this day. To know Butch was to love Butch as he was one of the most generous friends you could ever ask for. He was always first to volunteer at various charity events and well known for his continuous benevolence especially with assisting the homeless no matter he travelled. He was especially proud of his family including several members of law enforcement agencies, doctors in medicine and mental health, wildlife management, executives in various business industries and general management, specialty trades as well as domestic management and excelling students. Butch welcomed his many close friends into his social network; each and every one of them considered to be part of his "family". Faultlessly dependable, he made sure everyone had transportation to and from medical appointments and even provided airport chauffeur service to friends and family.
Relatively short in stature, he was none the less a giant amongst men; everyone looked up to him in appreciation and gratitude. Mr. Doyle, Roland, Butch… you are missed by all.
