Rollan Bradley, Jr., 80, of Tampa went to be with his son Timothy, on Aug. 14, 2014, unexpectedly, after short term illness, surrounded by loving family. He is survived by his wife, Anne and three children, daughters, Aimee Reed and Allison Brannigan and son Rollan III; three grandchildren, Aidan Reed, Reagan Brannigan and Sawyer Reed, as well as sister, Vaudine Williams. Rollan was a 4th generation Floridian that spent his entire life in Tampa except for his time in the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in England. During his time in the UK, he met his wife of 57 years. He lettered in football at Plant High School and fondly recounted his time growing up in Tampa when the city was much smaller. While traveling the brick paved streets of south Tampa, he would often point to historical buildings and recall how they had been part of his early life. Rollan had a great love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing as well as gardening. Once again, he would fondly recall of an earlier time in which both the fishing and hunting were more bountiful when the city and the state's populations were much smaller. The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation for the doctors and medical staff at the Tampa VA Haley hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Plant Park (www.friendsofplantpark.com/). Memorial service will be held Sat. August 23rd at 2:00 pm at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 W Platt St, Tampa, followed by interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Tampa. Family will receive guests at HPUMC beginning at 1:30 pm.
