Obituary

Ronald C. Myer, a proud 22-year veteran of the

United States Navy passed away April 22, 2022.

The son of Charles S. Myer and Winifred L. Myer

(Foster), Ronald grew up in Chenoa Illinois. He was

born March 25, 1941 and attended Chenoa High

School where he played football, basketball and

baseball.

At the age of 17 Ronald enlisted in the Navy. He

valued this service highly and attained the rank of

Electronics Warfare Technician Master Chief Petty

Officer (EWCM). While in the Navy Ron also earned

his Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue

University. During his Navy tenure Ron was stationed

in Morocco, Virginia, San Francisco and Greece.

While in Greece Ron volunteered and coached youth

sports, and was a beloved Scoutmaster with the Boy

Scouts of America. After retiring from the Navy, Ron

continued to work in the private sector achieving the

position of Program Director at both Northrop

Grumman Corporation and Litton Applied

Technology until his retirement.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 40 years Magda

Myer, his sister Rita Piercy, Normal, IL and his

children; Jimmy Myer, Columbus, OH, Gisele Myer,

NYC, NY, John Myer, San Jose, CA, and Charles Myer,

Tampa, FL. 4 grandchildren Anthony, Alexander,

Madeleine, and Ashley, and 1 great granddaughter,

Lyla.

His loved ones will remember that Ron was always

very generous with his money especially in a time of

need. Ronald was also the Vice President of AHEPA

(Greek Orthodox organization) as well as the

leader/creator of a group called "Forever Young at

Heart" where he planned trips for a group of elderly

church members at his Parrish that they absolutely

loved.

A service honoring the life of Ronald will be held at

St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church on

5/2/2022. Burial will take place at Sarasota National

Cemetery the following day, 5/3/2022 with full

military honors.
