Rosetta McMahon, 92 passed away Saturday October 13, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital.She was preceded by her beloved Husband Chester E McMahon and daughter Nancy Lee McMahon (Kornac). Survivors include Sons, Thomas C McMahon of High Point, NC, James E McMahon of Granville, TN, and Gene L McMahon of Tallahassee, FL: brother Gene Elliot of Newberry, FL; 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. McMahon was member of the Eastern Star, the Manhattan Avenue Methodist Church, and the Tampa WAVES Unit #55. As a graduate of Union High School in Benwood WV, she was active in volleyball, track, and swimming. She joined the Navy in 1942 and was in the first class graduated from Indiana Univerity's Basic Training School. She volunteered as a Grey Lady in Texas, Michgan, and New York. After retiring to Tampa, she did volunteer work at the MacDill Visitor's Center and help organize the Tampa WAVEs Unit.
