Ruth Evelyn Bowman Behrnes, 92 of Oldsmar, Florida passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021

Ruth was born on March 9, 1929 in Marion, Ohio to Rev. William and Hazel Bowman. She was the seventh of ten children. She is described by the people that knew her as being one of the kindest people they have ever known. She always put others first.

She graduated as valedictorian of her nursing class in Baton Rouge Louisiana. She continued in her nursing profession for over 40 years. She was a wonderful nurse and was awarded the Frisk Humanitarian Award in 1979.

They were blessed with three daughters, nine grandchildren, and thirty-two great grandchildren. In addition to being a loving mother and Grammie, she had a deep love for the Lord. Ruth participated in many church activities, especially the choir, she loved to sing.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 71 years, Frederick Grady Behrnes, her three daughters and their spouses, Valerie and Neal Coryell of Tampa, Vickie and Lee Robinson of Memphis, and Kaye and Martin Craig of Denver. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and their spouses and the thirty-two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and one great-grandson.

A service celebrating Ruth's life will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Tampa Community Church of the Nazarene, 13165 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida.

A private burial for the family will be held at Bushnell National Cemetery.
