Ruth Magdelene Saunders, of Tampa FL, died on June 8, 2013.Ruth was born March 9, 1936, in Southampton, NY.She graduated from Northeastern Academy in New York City in 1954, and received a Nursing degree from Pace University in 1976.She wed Raymond Saunders, Jr., in 1955, they were married for 58 years. After a short career as a registered nurse, Ruth joined her husband, an ordained minister in the Seventh Day Adventist church, in pastoral ministry.She worked with her husband as he pastored and evangelized internationally, baptizing thousands worldwide during the course of their 35 year career, until her husband's retirement in 2009. Ruth is survived by her husband, Raymond Saunders Jr., her sister, Mary Breech of Huntsville, AL, five children: Darlene Saunders of Southfield, MI, Deirdre Garnett of Gurnee, IL, Nathaniel Saunders of Hempstead, NY, Mark Saunders of Tampa FL, and Michael Saunders of Cleveland, OH; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a hostof family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday at Progress Village SDA Church, Tampa with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place Tuesday.
