Sadie Louise McMillan Chafin of Tampa passed away April 2, 2015, 14 days short of82 years old. Sadie was born in 1933 in Mulberry FL to Haney & Josephine McMillan. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Merrill McMillan. She is survived by sisters, Dorothy D'Aprile and Joyce Jennings. Sadie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert "Bob" Chafin; daughters, Susan Seaton, Patti Lyne (Mike), all of Tampa; son, Robert J Chafin, USN Ret (Nenita)of Ridgecrest California; six grandchildren, Chris Seaton, Steven Atkinson, Melanie Smith, all of Tampa, Ian Chafin, Nick Chafin, both of California, Kraig and Sarah Yost, both of Oak Harbor, Washington; and five great granddaughters, Abigal, Annabelle, Caroline Smith, all of Tampa and Olivia Louise and Maggie Mae Yost; and many nieces and nephews. Sadie was a lady of many accomplishments, a gifted artist for which she won awards, made her own clothes, made quilts, traveled to Rome, London, Manila and her favorite though was Honolulu. She was employed by Southern Bell in Miami from Operator to Plant Technician. She and her husband of 67 years lived in Tampa, Miami and Atlanta GA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Wednesday at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Hopewell Church Cemetery, Tampa. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm with a wake service at 7 PM at MacDonald Funeral Home 10520 N. Florida Ave, Tampa.
