Obituary

Sandra Sue George, 80, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025. She was born on June 18, 1945, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to the late Oral and Gusta Salyer. In 1969, she made Orlando, Florida her home, where she built a life filled with family, friends, and a wicked sense of humor that never left her.

Sandra worked more than 20 years with Mears Transportation Group before retiring, but her proudest role was as a devoted mother. She is survived by her three children: Debra Thibault (Greg) of Chesapeake, Virginia; Bobbi Sue George of Reno, Nevada; and Britt (Cindy) George of Los Angeles, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pamela Kay Pumroy of Plant City, Florida. She is survived by her brother, Ronald Salyer (Bonnie) of Plant City, Florida, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sandra also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lisa Marie Hudson (Chad) of Seaford, Virginia; Jessica George of Groveland, Florida; Kelly Phiffer of Dallas; and Raelyn Hennessee of New York City; as well as her great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Christian and Bentley Hudson of Seaford, Virginia; Taven and Khloe Burnett of Groveland, Florida; and Taylor (predeceased) and Keagan Moran of Dallas, Texas.

Sandra will be remembered for her quick wit, her love of reading and the way she could brighten a room with laughter. When she loved someone, she made sure they felt it—lighting up and saying, "There's my…" followed by a name, whether it was a child, a grandchild, or a friend. Those words, and the joy behind them, will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A private celebration of her life will be held in Spring 2026.
