Sharon Ellen Wells; On November 13 1946, the war was over and the world awaited the best of the so called Boomers. The immediate world was very pleased by the birth of Sharon Ellen Wells, a new fourth generation Tampa resident. For the next 70 years the world was made better by her. She graduated from Chamberlain High School, and then the University of South Florida with a major in Mathematics. After graduation she was employed by Belk Lindsey as an Administrative Assistant to the owner. This gave her the insight on how to make business work. In the evenings she worked to get her MBA. She really liked working at Belk, but Price Waterhouse called and she could not resist. While at Price Waterhouse she received her Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). For many years she taught Certification Classes for the PMI. There are hundreds of PMP's in Tampa who, at least in part, owe their certification to her.
In September of 1989 she joined Verizon Data Services as a Program Manager in the Billing Organization. She became known, far and wide, in Verizon as the one with the magic touch with difficult projects. She loved puzzles whether at Verizon or on her Dining Room Table with the largest and most difficult Puzzle she could find.
Shari always had the ambition to be a university teacher. In March, 2000 she joined The Keller Graduate School of Management. Later it was absorbed by DeVrey University. She finally got her wish, and she enjoyed it to the max.
For many years she was a proud member of a Sorority. I hope the sisters can cover this period for her.
For several years, Shari had been fighting breast cancer, always full of good spirits and optimism, she never let it slow her down. However earlier this month she suffered a cancer related seizure as the end was near. She recovered enough to enjoy visits from her family and friends, but finally became unresponsive she died peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2017
With loving memories.
A graveside service will take place Noon Saturday, October 28th at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
