Shirley Mae Lucas was born, November 29, 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the youngest daughter of five children born to her late parents, Thomas and Margaret Lucas. She had two brothers & two sisters, (brother) Benjamin Lucas, (sister) Richardine Lucas, (Both deceased) and is survived by her sister, Thomasina Lucas and brother, Thomas "Ricky" Lucas, of Charleston, Carolina. She graduated from Burke High School, Charleston South Carolina. After graduation she relocated to Yonkers, New York for work.
She worked for the Refined Sugar & Syrup Co. and the Saw See Shrimp Factory. Later, she worked as a Nurse's Aide at St. Joseph's Hospital. In 1962, she met and later married Robert Ellison Jr. and from this union they had three children, two sons, Robert Ellison III, (Consuela) of Perris, California, Marvin Eugene Ellison of Zephyrhills, Florida and one daughter, Terrie Marie Clark (fiancé James) of Odenton, Maryland.
She had 13 grandchildren, (2 deceased), 8 Great grandchildren (Alonzo, Eli, Christopher, Bryanna, Ta'Vaughn, Jasmine, Destinee, Kiara, Adoree, Warren-Robert, Marvin Jr.) and 4 step grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the Kings Highway Apostolic Church, Yonkers, NY, House of Praise, Clarksville, TN, Hollywood Church, Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Victorious Church in Zephyrhills, FL. She is survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.
