Obituary

Mr.Stanley L. Dixon, 87, of Tampa passed away October 10, 2009. Stanley married Dovie Cantrell on July 2, 1943 (deceased). He was a WWII US Navy veteran. He had a distinguished career with Bell Telephone serving 19 years at the Senate Office Building, the Capitol and the FBI Building in Washington, DC. Moving to Tampa 1960, Stanley continued his career with GTE becoming supervisor communications at Tampa Int'l Airport and retired 1980. He brought laughter to his family and friends with humorous true stories of his life experiences. Stanley was a Mason and attended Lake Carroll Baptist Church. He is survived by son, Richard Dixon (Joyce) of Newnan, GA; daughter, Linda Malich (Steve) of Land O' Lakes; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Warren of Eufaula, GA; and his Boston Terrier, Buster. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct 13th from 6-7:30 PM, followed by a service at 7:30 PM at MacDonald Funeral Home. Private burial on Wednesday. The family wishes to thank all his GTE friends, Lake Carroll Baptist Church, and Dr. Blanco and Kimberly Tope for their years of dedication. Thank you to St. Joseph's Infusion Center - Sarah and especially Maryann whose kindness and friendship to "Stan the Man" and family will never be forgotten.
