Stanley E. James, 82, of Tampa, Florida passed away November 13, 2015. He served in the US Army from April 9, 1955 to April 5, 1956. He received Marksman (Carbine) and Good Conduct Medal. He served a period of time above the Arctic Circle and served in the reserves until 1963 where he was honorably discharged. Stanley moved his family to Tampa in 1957 from Washington, DC. He worked for Nichols Machine Shop and then Genuine Parts Company where he retired February 1, 1995 after 38 years of service as a machinist. After retiring, he went to work for Vincent Machine Shop. Stanley was a member of J. F. Swartsel Masonic Lodge, Lutz, Florida for 50 years. He was Master of the lodge in 1973 and very active in the Eastern Star. Stanley did custom wood working as a hobby as well as custom rod building. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis C. and Grace W. James; son, Stanley Alan James; stepson, John Edward Ramsey; father and mother-in-law, John K. and Nancy B. Davidson. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sherry A. James; son, Donald Michael Finotti (Carolyn) of Plant City, FL; daughter, Joni James of Riverview, FL; son, Alton A. James; stepdaughter, Laura L. Ramsey (Sean Hill) of Gatlinburg, TN; brother and sister-in-laws, David J. Davidson (Kathryn) of Marietta, GA, Dane M. Davidson of Hernando, FL, Carol L. Hurst (Jeffery) of Lutz, FL, Shawn L. Davidson (Cathy) of Tampa, FL; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Service with full military honors will take place 11:00 AM Friday, December 11th at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Shriner's Children's Hospitals.
