ALMAND, Rev. Raydell Sr., 86, of Tampa, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2009. He served with the United States Army during WWII. Rev. Almand was a Baptist minister for 55 years and was currently Pastor Emeritus at West Broad Street Baptist Church, Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wife Lavonne Almand. He is survived by a son, T. Raydell "Ray" Almand, Jr. (Anne) of Tampa; daughters, Sylvia Naidu (Madan) of Katy, Texas and Patricia Bryant (Larry) of Live Oak, Fla; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; brother, James Almand; sister, Myrtle Mae Wymer; and sister-in-law, Lois Armstrong. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 5th in the Almand Hall at West Broad Street Baptist Church, 3809 W. Broad Street, Tampa. A funeral service will take place at 10 AM Wednesday, May 6th at West Broad Street Baptist Church. Interment with honors will follow at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
